Last night we had our good friends come over, The Buells and the Holcombs. They both thought they were coming over to watch the Beaver football game, we did too but we didn't actually have the channel! Oops! Poor Scott tried for over an hour to get it and even had to cancel a credit card over it. Even though we didn't get to watch the game we had a great time. The kids were playing really good. And Presleigh was so excited to have her friends come over...she always greets everyone at the door! Our house is so spread out so sometimes it's a little hard to keep track of the kids. They were all over the place, they played in the living room, in the great room, in Presleighs room and they were even found playing around in our room. Charleigh loved getting to crawl around and walk around the table with all the kids playing too. She felt like such a big girl! Presleigh was feeling pretty special too..Brian was holding the kids up in the air on the bottoms of their feet! Presleigh was in heaven and of course expected to spend the rest of the night doing it. Presleigh and the other kids got to experience their first Twinkie! I don't know how much they liked it but we know that baby Reese has a new favorite snack. She munched a twinke like nobody's business. My cinnamon smelling pine ones were quite the hit with the kids too.. They had them all over the house!
The night was going great but ended up a little scary for us. Presleigh and the big kids were all jumping on her bed, and Presleigh hit her head on the wall and she must of hit her forehead somewhere too. She was really upset, you could tell she was really hurting, she had quite the bruise too. Not long after all of our friend left Presleigh got sick, she threw up all over me. After that I knew she must have a concussion, I just didn't know how serious it could be. The on call nurse said too just watch her for the next 24 hours and that if she got sick again we would need to bring her in. She has been okay so far today. Right now we are all picking up from playing at the pool house. Both girls love it out there. The couch and ottoman are too perfect for jumping on and walking around on. It's now time for nap, we all need to be ready and rested for Disney on ice tonight! We are so excited!
My blog is about my little family and most importantly my two darling daughters Presleigh and Charleigh.

Disney in Ice!
We just got home from seeing Disney on Ice, Dare to Dream! It was awesome! We had the best seats in the house, front row!! At the beginning of the show Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald came out to see us. Presleigh lit up when she saw them. She is really in to mi key mouse clubhouse right now so to see all the characters was very cool for her. After they left and The Princess Frog started up Presleigh was really concerned where Goofy had gone... She asked me probably 10 times, " where did Goofy go?" except when she says Goofy it's pronounced Goosy... She has a little trouble with her F's. Oh well, someday she will say it the right way and I will miss the cute quirky way she first said goofy. Charleigh was so good the whole time.. She had so much to look at, she was taking it all in. Presleigh picked out a souvenir to take home, of course she picked the SWORD. The Flynn rider sword to be exact. My girl skipped past all the princess swag and went for the weapon! She is too funny.. Scott and I were chuckling to ourselves. We even tried to talk her out of it a little, just to make sure that's what she really wanted. She was clear... She wanted that sword! Presleigh danced during the show, and waved at all the characters. It was so fun watching her smile ear to ear. After the show she told us " that was a great movie" .. Lol. I'm so glad we went and got to see the Disney characters, I think it got us all excited and ready for our trip to Disneyland!
On our way into the show! So excited!
Front Row seats! Thanks Dad :)

1-2-3 Magic!
Like I said last week, Presleigh has been very defiant lately. Unfortunately I was loosing my cool far more than I wanted and ended up feeling pretty guilty and exhausted at the end of most days. I knew we needed to make some major changes in the way we dealt with her. What I was doing wasn't effective and it made me feel bad as well. I had read the book 1-2-3 magic before and when a child counselor recommended I use the method I was all in. I also was told that with toddlers and strong willed kids you must be prepared to leave anywhere at anytime. Whew, that sounded a little scary to me but I am willing to give this whatever it takes. After 2 days of the 1-2-3 method I could see Presleigh was catching on. She was only doing things once or twice and hardly getting to three. It was nice to not be yelling...instead it was short to the point and she knew what to expect. Today we had a rougher morning. We went to a playmate at our friends house. These type of situations are a little harder for P because she gets very rambunctious and I think it is hard to control herself. There was a few times where she hit or pushed some of the other kids. More than once I told her we would leave if she did it again. So, when she pushed another girls I picked her up and told her we were going home. Oh my... She cried!!!!! She screamed that she didn't want to go, no mama, I don't wanna go home! But I just kept my cool and we left. It took her a few minutes to get over it but her behavior the rest of the day was way better! It feels like we are enjoying our time together more. She knows what to expect from Mom. That I won't let some stuff slide and then other times fly off the handle. I am very proud of her, it seems she is happy too that she is being such a good girl. But.. It's only been a few days and I know the road might not get easier for awhile.
The girls are starting to play together really well. Since Charleigh is a crawling machine, Presleigh is always running from her trying to get her to play chase. I love hearing Presleigh laugh and play with her little sister. P has even been my helper by staying behind Charleigh when she climbs the stairs. I wish she would just keep her from going up them but i guess thats what a baby gate is for! The two of them crawled all over the kitchen, under the table and under the chairs. They entertained each other for over an hour tonight....having them 2 years apart just might pay off :)! I honestly think that the happiest moments I have had as a mom are the ones when my two girls are playing together and enjoying each others company. Nothing is better than that!

Preschool Helper Day
Yesterday I got to be the mom to help out Presleighs prechool class. I had done it one other time but that was when they had a field trip. To say the least I was eager to know what she did all day at school and what the teacher was teaching the class! I love that the first 30 minutes of class is dedicated to playing. Presleighs favorite thing to do is paint. So right when we walked in the door she put on the paint shirt. She was saying "mom Im a backwards kid", she was saying that because they wear shirts backwards to keep from getting paint all over their clothes! I painted a picture with her and I even had another kid really interested in my painting. After paint we played all sorts of things, we played kitchen, dress up, we built the pyramid and ended with cleaning up!! I was very relieved to see that Presleigh is doing very well with her peers. It is hard for me to remember that she is almost a year younger than most the kids in her class. Some things the other kids can grasp (sharing, listening ) will come with age. Although she is the youngest you would never know. She is counting to 20 like the rest of them, can sing all the silly songs, she even knows how to raise her hand to give the answer to a question. I was so proud of her and I can tell she really enjoys being at school. My special moment came at recess. P always wants me to chase her or as she calls it "get me"...So, I started chasing her around and then she wanted to chase me. Then another kid joined in and decided he was going to get me too... and then another, then a few more and soon enough I had the whole class chasing me around the playground!! I got my exercise for the day that's for sure. I think Presleigh had a lot of fun with me playing at her school, but I also think she was thinking "why is my mom giving these other kids attention?". That's what I would be thinking too. Well I am happy I finally got to see what she does at Preschool and I think she enjoyed having mom at school to see all the things she does all by herself. I have a big girl on my hands!!
Getting ready to head to Preschool!
Presleighs first ever school Picture! Look at her, she is just beautiful!
The Rain is here!
I must say I am a little behind on my blogging. Its been over a week since I last wrote and I am going to blame the rain. It has started to rain, and pour, and the wind has started to blow...and lets not forget about how dark it is every morning and every night. The weather has made me go into hibernation mode! I will bring you all up to speed on how the girls are doing and what we were up to last week!
Charleigh finally got her top tooth! The left top tooth has broken the skin and moved down...the right side is still in limbo :/ It is really close to breaking through and Im sure she isnt very comfortable. Luckily she is still sleeping through the night, naptime on the other hand has been hit or miss. She wants to wake up after 20 min of napping. Im chalking this up to teething and all the new things she is learning how to do! She is cimbing the stairs, she is pushing the car around, walking with her walker and so far has taken up to 7 steps! She goes from the couch to the coffee table all by herself (a little scary I know, so far only 1 bruise)!
Presleigh got to see some of her friends at the apple prchard last week. Boy did she love that place! Being that its so close to home she is always asking about it and wanting some "apple cider". Although Im not going to deny that P has been challenging lately. She is at tht age where she is testing her boundaries and really giving me a run for my money. P is constantly copying everything I say..."your going to a time out mom" , "you need to follow the rules" and a lighter funnier one was "Charleigh your just a stinker, you are being a pain in the butt". I really need to start internalizing some of these!!!
I thought P might be a little better when Grandma Teresa came to town but it seemed to have the opposite effect! Funny how kids act up when other people are around. I cant forget though how great Presleigh was when we all went to the mall on Saturday. She walked by herself and was sooo good. She didn grab stuff or run off.. I was so proud! We had fun looking at stuff together and browsing the aisles. I even let her go up and down the escalator a few times!! She loved it!
Overall it was a relaxing weekend and it was good to see my mom again, and so soon!

Washington Visit!
Last weekend the girls and I made the 3 hour drive ( turned into 4 hours) up to Enumclaw to visit my family. Since I had Charleigh it's been a lot harder to get up and see my parents, sister and grandparents. I have really been missing them, and even missed the place I grew up as well. Poor Charleigh wasn't feeling good the night before we left...her top teeth are coming in. Poor baby has been pretty miserable a few days. It was a miracle we even made it out of the house Friday morning. I had to give both girls baths, shower myself, pack for all 3 of us and get Charleighs play pen downstairs and in the car. Somehow, someway we made it in the car by 10:00! Presleigh was really excited that we were going to see grandpa John again. He was still fresh in her mind from the weekend before. The drive up wasn't horrible. Charleigh did cry for a lot of it though, if we hadn't been stuck in 40 minutes of traffic due to an accident she would of done a little better. P was great, she watched Tangled two times :) Then all weekend she was reciting the movie. " oh stop it ya big lug" .
When we got into town we headed straight to Grandma Toni's. She is truly so amazing. P loves going to her house because she has so many toys and fun things to do. All of the toys are from her kids and grand kids. Of course we had cookies, my favorite ever are my grandmas ginger snaps :) Charleigh had some too.. She is a fan! Charleigh did really great there too. She had stuff to play with and a high hair to have some lunch in. She was even super smiley to my grandpa. That is a rarity, usually both girls are a little scared of him. This time they finally started coming around... I bet that made him feel good. After grams we went to stay the night at Grandpa Johns! Presleigh emptied the toy box about 10 times and couldn't help herself from jumping on the couch... Lol. Maybe I should be more strict about that at home! We had pizza for dinner and p even got to make cupcakes! With blue frostingand sprinkles of course! The sprinkles were everywhere, I'm sure barb is still finding them around the house. Aunt Janie was there so Presleigh got to see her too. It's been awhile since P has seen Janie, I think she really had missed her. The three of us surprisingly slept pretty good that night. So we were up and at 'em early Saturday morning! We got up and headed to see Grandma Teresa! There wasn't much for her to do there so we went to the Halloween store and got P a costume. She is going to be a pirate! The costume is so perfect for her and I can't wait to take her trick or treating in it.

This past week..
This past week has been pretty low key. Which is fine with me. Sometimes it's good for us to slow down, lay low and relax a little. It has been nice to not be in a hurry going places. Yesterday at the grocery store I wasn't in a hurry so Presleigh got to walk with me down and around all the aisles of the grocery store. She did pretty good, of course she grabbed things and I had to tell her ten times to put them back but she did and didn't throw a fit. It was great, I was super proud of her. I let her have the jelly beans she spotted. When we were at the check stand the people in front of us were paying and the checker was doing his thing, Presleigh who can barely see over the counter kept putting those jelly beans down right in the front of all our groceries. She wanted to make sure he saw them! It was cute, she was a big girl who was going to pay for her jelly beans.
Today marks the one week that Charleigh has been sleeping in her own crib, upstairs in her own room. Last week I was at the end of my rope. It seemed like we were up all night with Charleigh in our bed and she wouldn't sleep longer than 30 min to an hour in her crib by herself. So, I got my game face on and decided to give sleep training a try. I honestly thought about, talked with my girlfriend about it and decided that night we would start. She couldnt of surprised me more. Like expected, she woke up at her normal time 10:00. I rocked her for just a minute and put her back to bed. Poor chuck, she had never had anything like this happen. She probably wondered what the heck was going on. We let her scream and cry for 15 min, then I went upstairs and rocked her for one min to calm her down, then it was back in her bed. This time she was more mad, but it didn't last long at all. No more than 15 minutes later she laid down and went to sleep...she didn't wake up again until 4:30 am. The next couple nights were even better, she slept all night! For 12 hours!! I was so excited and proud of my baby girl. So far she has done really great, a few morning she has woken up early but I'll take that over the old sleep habits any day. I do miss having her so close though, I might have to start sleeping upstairs so I can go see her thru the night a little easier.
Today was possibly the nice day of weather we will have for awhile. We have had a good run of plus 70'degree days. I hate to say this but I'm ready for the crisp fall air. I wouldn't mind a "little" rain either. The past few nights the girls and I spent some time playing outside. Tuesday when Scott came home we all hung around outside walked around the back side of the house and even bummed around in the pool house. The girls were sitting in the play house together... It was too cute seeing them in there together. Someday soon they will playing and running around together. Last night before Scott and I went out to get our new dishwasher we jumped on the trampoline and played on the putting green. Like usual Charleigh was trying to eat leaves any chance she could get. Scott let P sit on his lap and "drive" the truck around the driveway when he got home. The look on her face was priceless. She was shouting "mom, mom, look at me", she was so proud. Little does she know how much more proud I am of her. It's those little moments that take your breath away and get you thinking about how blessed you are to have such amazing kids. Today we went outside and did all our normal stuff like jump on the trampoline, skip rocks, swing in the hammock, and play on the putting green but we also did something new...I took the girls for a ride in the wagon. We have done thus once or twice before but nothing like we did tonight. I was running around and around the Driveway pulling P and C behind me in the wagon. Presleigh was yelling " wee, go faster mom, keep running fast".. And Charleigh was smiling and enjoying the ride :) I had a blast doing that with them, and I got some exercise in too. The rest of the night we had dinner and played in the living room. Then we got the girls in bed at a decent time. Tomorrow the girls and I are heading to Enumclaw to visit my mom, dad, sister and grandparents. I have only been up a few times in the past year so I'm looking forward to going back home :)
